Ride N' Swim ~

On Thursday our troop met at the Western Ridge for a Ride n' Swim!  Some of the girls were riding a horse for the very first time, myself included, so we were all very excited!  Look at that grin on Andreas face...she's not having any fun!  :)
This is our newest scout member, Aspen.  She was in a troop at Livermore Elementary, but since she transferred to Red Feather, she is part of our troop now, and we are happy to have her.
Check out her stylish pink and purple boots!
Bella showed no fear as she climbed upon her horse, ready to ride!  In fact i was proud of all the girls!
We saddled up in groups, so while some went riding, the others went swimming!
Jordyn and i were some of the last to ride, so she got to pick the horse wanted, and she chose Amigo. Our wranglers, Cody and Holly, were awesome...and the girls loved them!
Check out Kailyn and Kenji...they look like naturals!
and Oriana enjoyed her very first horse ride on the beautiful Amigo too!
I thought it fitting that Serenity should be riding Red...considering they both have gorgeous red hair!
And here is our troop leader Sharon...ready for action!
And then of course, there's me...riding a horse for the very first time!  They paired me up with Banjo, a once wild mustang from Wyoming, obviously a lot tamer now :)  She was a very sweet horse, and i enjoyed her company very much!

After our Ride n' Swim, it was time for pizza...which was good because we were all ravenous!
And then we were ready for more fun...
The girls are pretending to be horses, while Bella and Kenji hitch a ride...hmmmm...i think Bella and Kenji have the right idea!  :)

Then it was time to say goodbye to the horses, and of course take a few silly troop photos...

We'd like to send a Big Thanks to Western Ridge for taking such good care of us...you guys ROCK!!!
and to my co-leader Sharon for putting this trip together (and for getting me on a horse).  I had a fabulous time and its something i will remember forever and im sure the girls will too!  :)
Thank You!!!

Everyone Loves A Parade!!!

Red Feather Lakes had their Fourth of July celebration, and our girls were very excited to participate in the parade!
The girls decorated the truck, adorned themselves in red, white and blue, and when the parade started, they tossed candy into the crowds!
As you can imagine, the Girl Scout truck was quite popular!  Some of the community even recognized the girls from their photo in the North Forty July newspaper (from their clean up day at Parvin Lake), so the girls felt like quite the celebrities!
Hooray for parades!!!
