Campout and Bridging Ceremony ~

We had our end of summer/bridging ceremony campout over the weekend, and it was a blast!
The girls had to set up their own tents, with a little help, and then we celebrated our bridging ceremony!

After that the girls were free to play and have fun...and fun they did!

Heres a shot of Jordyn wearing her Brownie uniform for the last time...now its on to a Juniors vest!  Im excited for her next step, but sad to see all those patches retire!  :)

The girls enjoyed hot dogs and s'mores around the fire, and then we played music, sang songs and even told some stories!

Hot cocoa was a big hit as the evening got late!

The girls were up wayyyyy tooo early for me, but thats okay, there was plenty to do!

The girls enjoyed fruit while Ms. Sharon made pancakes...and of course there was the rope swing and river fun too!
We worked on our outdoor skills patch, reviewing knots and pocket knife safety.  The girls all passed with flying colors and earned a patch.  Way to go girls!

Then most of the girls headed back down to the river for more fun!  It was a little chilly, but they didnt seem to mind!

What an absolutely fabulous weekend!  We couldnt have asked for more perfect weather!
I love these girls!

Great Stupa ~

Our kick off for the new school year was a hike to the Great Stupa at the Shambhala Mountain Center.  It was a beautiful day, and the girls were excited to be together again!  We even had some little brothers join us too!
Most of us had not been here before, so it was a new experience for all of us!
The girls made offerings and then continued up the path!
They were very excited to reach the Stupa and they couldnt wait to see what was inside.  We circumambulated the Stupa, and then went inside.

I was so proud of our girls...they removed their shoes and quietly walked inside to explore the Stupa. Some of the kids even decided to join a man that was meditating on the pillows.  They were respectful, quiet and so sweet to watch!  They had such a nice time they didnt want to leave.

They wrote notes to Buddha and then headed home.

It was a great day to be outside exploring nature and another culture and the girls had a blast!
