Rollerland!!!

To celebrate all our hard work selling cookies, we decided to have some fun at Rollerland!
As you can imagine, when you live in the mountains, there arent too many sidewalks to skate on, so most of the girls were learning for the first time.
No matter how many times they fell though, they kept on going...and skated with a smile on their face!
In fact, we all had a great time...parents and kids alike!  We will definitely be coming back here again soon!

Red Feather Lakes Girl Scout Troop Rocks the Rink~!
Thanks again parents for joining us today...and keep selling those cookies girls!

More Cookie Booth Fun ~

On Sunday morning we had a booth at the King Soopers.  It started out a bit slow, and the girls were a little discouraged, but pretty soon, we were selling cookies like hotcakes, and the girls got very revved up and excited!  They started chanting..."get our cookies while theyre hot...or, i mean, before they melt"....and Bella's chant, "BUY COOKIES....YOU NEED COOKIES!!!"  It was fun to see them become uninhibited, having fun and unafraid.  They were awesome!  Meanwhile, Andrea K. was inside, keeping track of our sales and merchandising...she is a born saleswoman!  We also had some family and friends come out to support us, including Andrea K's dad, who bought even more cookies, and Jordyns Godfather, who bought over a case!  Thanks to everyones hard work, we sold  124 boxes of cookies!!!  Way to go girls!!!

Another Successful Cookie Day!

We had another successful cookie booth day...this time on our own turf in Red Feather Lakes at the Trading Post.  It was incredibly windy and cold outside, so they were nice enough to let us set up shop inside...but that didnt keep the girls from rocking the advertising outside, wind and all!
We had signs posted around the neighborhood letting folks know where we'd be, so we had a great turnout!  Oriana...our youngest girl scout...maned the table for a while by herself and she was awesome!  Who can say no to that face :)  She had a great sales pitch too!
For some of these girls, it was their first time working a booth, so they were having a lot of fun!  And their hard work paid off...we sold 101 boxes (8 of which were sold to neighbors on the way home...good job Rehna and Jordyn).
All in all, it was a great day, and i think all the girls had a good time!  Way to go Serenity, Kailyn, Kennedy, Nicole, Kenji, Rehna, Oriana and Jordyn!  You girls make me proud!  :)

February Meeting ~

Today Rehna and Nicole shared their badge work!  Rehna finished completing her work on the Celebrating Community badge, while Nicole finished her work on a Bugs badge.  Rehna had to make a drawing of our state flag, state flower, state tree and state bird....well done Rehna...looks great!
One of Nicole's projects was to make a butterfly out of a coffee filter and a clothes pin, but instead she did her impersonation of Minnie Mouse :) (both were cute by the way)
She also did a few drawings of bugs, this one showing the stages of a butterfly, and the other drawing detailed butterfly parts.  Congratulations to both of our Brownies for earning new badges today!
Meanwhile, the Daisies were working on an assignment to earn their Zinni (considerate and caring) and Tula (courageous and strong) petals, and they created some beautiful art in the process.
The Juniors and Brownies then worked on their Journeys, Agents of Change and Wonders of Water.  The girls were very creative with their ideas, and i cant wait to see what they come up with next.  We should have lots of badges and patches to hand out at our sleepover next month!  Keep up the awesome work girls...and keep selling those cookies!  :)

National Girl Scout Cookie Day!

February 8th was National Girl Scout Cookie Day!  It was also the first day we could do booth sales, and we had a primo spot on North College at the King Soopers!  We ran into some cookie issues at the cupboard when i went to pick up our order, and they were only able to fill half of my order, but thankfully i was able to catch Sharon before she headed down the mountain, and she brought what little stash we had left with her.
It was gorgeous outside, so we took advantage of the sunlight and set up outside for the first hour of sales.  We barely had the cookies unloaded out of the car, when crowds started to form at our table!  We also had our Daisies, Jordyn and Andrea doing some song and dance advertising...
while our Brownie, Andrea K. worked on merchandising and handing out cookies.  With all the excitement and chaos, time really flew by...and all of the girls decided they LOVED selling cookies!  In fact, when each one of them took a break, they were anxious to get back and sell more cookies :)

By the end of the evening, we had run out of Thin Mints, Do-Si-Dos and Tagalongs...but what a great day it was!!!
Oh, and if you're wondering...we sold 176 boxes!!!  Not too bad for our first time  :)
Way to go girls...you rocked the cookie sales!!!

Selling Cookies in the Mountains ~

Here are a few shots of Jordyn and Andrea selling cookies...up here in the mountains you have to get pretty creative!
For example, Andrea found out that folks get hungry while ice fishing, so she took her sled onto the lake and made some friends who then bought cookies!  :)  Jordyn discovered that being so far from town, folks just love when someone comes around with cookies...sort of like the ice cream truck that drives through the neighborhood.  She sold almost two cases, after only a few houses, and the whole troop has doubled our expectations!  With the money we raise, we will be able to have a camp out at the zoo!  Way to go girls...you've been rockin the cookie sales!  (and a big thanks go out to the moms too!)
